Cosmic Rays: the Fantastic Four and 3DExperience

In the 1960s, during a failed space mission, four astronauts were exposed to intense cosmic radiation that altered their structure at an atomic level, granting them extraordinary powers … and giving rise to the Fantastic Four.
It is not known with certainty what kind of extreme conditions triggered these (fictional, it must be said) transformations, but being able to understand how materials respond to unexpected mechanical loads, severe thermal gradients or complex electromagnetic fields is an essential part of advanced simulation tools such as Dassault Systèmes’ 3DExperience platform.
