Impacts on concrete: IRIS_2012

As part of international research program IRIS_2012, Principia simulated impacts of rigid and soft missiles on reinforced concrete slabs, including cases that resulted in total perforation of the slab.

The tests were performed in Finland after the calculations were completed. We were happy to confirm that the calculations carried out by Principia predicted accurately the results of the tests in relation to the crushing and cracking of the concrete, the yielding and failure of the reinforcement, and the energy spent in the perforation process.
