Dynamic loads on integral bridges

Response to seismic, accident and braking loads

Integral bridges are monolithic structures, devoid of expansion joints or support bearings.

In the course of an R&D project financed by the Spanish Ministry of Public Works, Principia studied the behaviour of integral bridges for high-speed railway lines, primarily in the context of their dynamic loads, such as seismic, accident and braking loads. We also studied their response to static demands, such as shrinkage and the seasonal temperature cycling.
