Until recently, several factors allied to make impacts very difficult to study analytically due to their highly dynamic nature, the strong non-linearities activated, and the almost inevitable need for a three-dimensional treatment.

In our experience, the main industries that require this type of studies are nuclear, oil & gas, aerospace, defence, and automotive, although the civil and mining industries also experience impact problems frequently.

Principia has participated in projects as diverse as collaborating with Repsol in the studies carried out for investigation and remediation of the Prestige tanker accident, assessing the vulnerability of the BBVA offices at the Azca Tower and Las Tablas, or the Project CRAHVI (CRAshworthiness for High Velocity Impact) for the aeronautical industry.
