Principia está presente en un amplio abanico de sectores industriales, especialmente gas y petróleo, energía eólica, ingeniería civil, ingeniería mecánica, aeroespacial/defensa, energía nuclear, etc. Dentro de la mecánica aplicada las disciplinas que ejerce se centran en el área mecánico-estructural, con actividad también notable en sismología, dinámica de fluidos e ingeniería geotécnica.

Un elevado porcentaje de nuestros proyectos incluye actividades de investigación y desarrollo. Las nuevas tecnologías en muchas áreas, desde la generación de energía a los procesos de fabricación, motivan a menudo los encargos de nuestros clientes. También participamos con frecuencia en proyectos internacionales de investigación.

Los problemas a los que nos dedicamos suelen ser poco frecuentes a la par que complejos de analizar, lo que justifica acudir a un consultor especializado. Nuestro alto grado de especialización nos permite optimizar la solución de estos problemas para nuestros clientes.

Adicionalmente, Principia comercializa y da soporte en España y Portugal a los productos SIMULIA de Dassault Systèmes. Entre ellos se encuentra el conocido programa de elementos finitos Abaqus, especialmente potente para resolver problemas dinámicos y no lineales, que Principia emplea en la mayor parte de su actividad como consultor.
